Justice Yusuf Haliru of the Federal High Court Abuja has granted bail to Senate President Bukola Saraki, his deputy Ike Ekweremadu, former Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Abubakar Maikasuwa and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi. Saraki, Ekweremadu and the two others all pleaded not guilty when the charges of forgery of the senate order was read to them. Part of their bail condition is that their sureties, two each, must have landed property in Maitama, Asokoro, Garki or Wuse or be remanded in Kuje prison. The case has been adjourned to July 11th..

One of the six suspects, of three different 'One-Chance' gangs, arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command on Sunday has disclosed that the prevailing economic situation in the country has greatly affected one chance robbery operations. The militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, on Saturday, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to visit the Niger Delta region to see the difficulties the dwellers are experiencing despite the huge revenue accruable to the country from the region. Reports indicated that Buhari had on Friday appealed to the group in God’s name to stop destroying oil installations. In a statement signed by the group’s spokesman, Moduch Agbinibo, it lamented the underdevelopment in the region.
